What problem does it solve?
Solo practice is slow and directionless. HarpMaster’s practice modes wrap up “what to practice, how to practice, how you’re doing” in one place — every rep comes with real musical backing, so you can drill for hours without getting bored.
Core capabilities
- Scales & patterns — 13 scales, 9 arpeggios, 4 intervals, 7 sequence patterns, 6 rhythm variations
- 12-bar blues improvisation — drums + bass + keys backing, 3 chord progressions, live chord grid
- Rhythm training — percussion notation + graduated difficulty, from quarter notes to syncopation to triplets
- Pattern generator — auto-generates ascending / descending / both directions, configurable repeats
How it works
In blues improvisation mode, three-voice backing is generated in real time from a synthesis engine (or you can pick sample mode for actual blues recordings). Chord progressions support Quick Change, Slow Change, and Standard variants.
Scale and arpeggio patterns let you drill through 13 scales, 9 arpeggios, 4 interval shapes, and 7 sequence patterns — each with configurable direction, repeat count, and rhythmic pattern.
Why this design
Practice with a real band — not just a metronome. Scale drills train technique, rhythm training trains your pulse, blues improvisation gives you space to actually play music. The backing keeps you honest and keeps you interested, which is more than most practice apps do.
